Submission Guidelines

Before completing the submission, authors must confirm compliance with the following requirements:

  • The manuscript is original, unpublished, and is not under consideration by another journal.
  • The content is aligned with the aims and scope of RIIS.
  • All authors have made a relevant contribution to the work, approved the submitted version, and accept responsibility for its content.
  • The manuscript has been prepared using the Manuscript Template and complies with the Author Guidelines.
  • The main file is submitted in an editable Microsoft Word format.
  • The manuscript intended for peer review has been fully anonymised and does not contain names, affiliations, identifiable acknowledgements, file properties, or any other information that may reveal the identity of the authors or their institutions.
  • A separate Title Page has been submitted and includes authors’ names, institutional affiliations, city, country, email addresses, ORCID identifiers, corresponding author details, author contributions, funding, and conflicts of interest.
  • The title, abstract, and keywords are provided in Portuguese, English, and Spanish.
  • Keywords have preferably been selected from the DeCS and/or MeSH controlled vocabularies.
  • The metadata of all authors have been correctly completed in the OJS.
  • Citations and references comply with APA, 7th edition, and include a DOI whenever available.
  • The reporting guideline appropriate to the study design has been followed and the corresponding checklist has been submitted, when applicable.
  • Ethics committee approval has been provided, or a justified exemption statement has been included, when applicable.
  • Informed consent and consent for publication have been obtained when required.
  • Author contributions, conflicts of interest, funding sources, and acknowledgements have been declared.
  • A Data Availability Statement has been included.
  • Any substantial use of artificial intelligence tools has been disclosed, identifying the tool and the purpose for which it was used.
  • Permission has been obtained to reproduce tables, figures, images, or other copyright-protected materials.
  • Supplementary files have been properly identified and referred to in the manuscript, when applicable.
  • Authors accept the editorial, ethical, and peer review policies of RIIS.
  • Authors agree to the publication of the article under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International — CC BY 4.0 licence.

Failure to comply with these requirements may result in the manuscript being returned for correction or rejected during editorial pre-screening.
