Resumo
Enquadramento: as lesões por pressão são uma complicação multifatorial que afeta significativamente a qualidade de vida dos doentes e aumenta os custos de saúde. Devido à complexidade da problemática, torna-se necessária uma abordagem sistematizada e baseada em modelos teóricos estruturados para a sua prevenção eficaz. Objetivo: analisar o desenvolvimento das lesões por pressão em unidades de cuidados intensivos à luz do Nursing Role Effectiveness Model, destacando a importância dos papéis do enfermeiro na sua prevenção. Metodologia: ensaio teórico narrativo que documenta o percurso reflexivo de aplicação do modelo conceptual Nursing Role Effectiveness Model como quadro teórico para analisar o papel do enfermeiro na prevenção de lesões por pressão. Resultados: a aplicação de um modelo conceptual de enfermagem permite compreender e explicar as relações entre as múltiplas variáveis envolvidas no desenvolvimento das lesões por pressão. Conclusão: a utilização do modelo conceptual Nursing Role Effectiveness Model pode permitir uma abordagem sistematizada na compreensão das lesões por pressão em unidades de cuidados intensivos, destacando a importância dos papéis independentes, interdependentes e dependentes dos enfermeiros, assim como as variáveis que influenciam os resultados sensíveis aos cuidados de enfermagem.
