El impacto de la inteligencia emocional en el cuidado de enfermería en cuidados intensivos: revisión integrativa de la literatura.

Marco contextual: la inteligencia emocional en la práctica de las enfermeras de cuidados intensivos interviene en la capacidad de regular sus propias respuestas emocionales y del paciente. Objetivo: comprender la relación entre la inteligencia emocional y el impacto en el desempeño de los enfermeros intensivistas, a través de una revisión integrativa de la literatura. Metodología: en el primer semestre de 2022 se realizó una revisión integradora de la literatura, en las bases de datos: Web of Science, Scopus y PubMed, donde se realizó una encuesta de producciones científicas, publicada entre 2018 y 2022, sobre el tema elegido. Resultados: la revisión integrativa incluyó el análisis de 3 artículos seleccionados de un total de 52 identificados inicialmente. El manejo adecuado de las emociones de los enfermeros y pacientes a quienes prestan cuidados tiene un impacto positivo en el cuidado prestado. El optimismo poco realista de las enfermeras y los altos niveles de frustración a menudo conducen a condiciones de agotamiento, con un impacto negativo en la atención al paciente. La inteligencia emocional y la atención plena tienen un papel protector del agotamiento en las enfermeiras. Conclusión: la inteligencia emocional y la atención plena pueden mejorar el bienestar individual de las enfermeras y el personal de las unidades de cuidados intensivos.
