Abstract

Background: the intervention of health professionals in the grieving process is a health need in the end-of-life process of the palliative patient and his family.  Objective: to map the scientific evidence on which interventions health professionals develop in the grief management in the palliative care setting. Methodology: scoping review, following the mnemonic P (participants), C (concept) and C (context) recommended by the Joanna Briggs Institute. Results: three articles were selected, two of which refer to grief management programs for the loss of a child family member and one for the loss of an adult family member. The interventions developed by the health teams in the management of grief begin in the person's end-of-life process. They are related to support, creation of memories and maintenance of contact with the family after the person´s death. Conclusion: the grieving process associated with the loss of a child is very complex and requires a very particular view. Further studies should be developed on targeted interventions in grief management in palliative care.
